Yes they keep mentioning Sheldrake because they believe you can send thoughts to other minds. That is even mentioned in the Satanic Bible by Lavey and that is pseudoscience. There is no proof at all by real science that you can inject thoughts into the brain of someone to make them do what you want.

Once again, Sheldrake was mentioned one time in in The Satanic Scriptures, this is hardly a wholesale promotion of Sheldrake's work. They quoted one idea of Sheldrake's in concern with Satanic rituals, and to be honest, I doubt the sincerity there. LaVey and Gilmore have both stated that ritual is simply a psychological tool. I think you seem to be missing the tongue-in-cheek sarcasm often used in Satanic literature.

Can you provide me with links? Simply saying it was mentioned in some magazine article doesn't do much for me. I can't say I'm compelled to look into these things as, once again, the beliefs of few members of the CoS are not at all representative of what the codified philosophy of Satanism is, especially considering it is EXPLICITLY stated that it is an atheistic philosophy.

As far as them believing in ghosts and a spirit world and reincarnation wow where to begin. King Diamond by far the most famous COS member and the member most respected by Lavey has talked since the early 80s about being haunted by spirits and demons and even claimed to summon one once.

Once again, you're missing the sarcasm. LaVey was very much into showmanship and he was quite the rabble rouser.

Blanche Barton who gave birth to LaVeys last child and is a very high ranking member in recent years much like King Diamond has seen the spirits levitate objects and heard their voices and believes like King in reincarnation. She has mentioned this in recent interviews you should be able to find on youtube one with Art bell and the other two I forget the names but can find for you if you wish. COS Rev Thomas Thorn who is also mentioned in Satanic Scriptures talks openly not only about spirit guides but also about how demons are very real and he summons them and communicates with them! he mentioned this in a few places including the COS magazine the Black Flame. Those are just some examples

Once again, the beliefs of a few members of the CoS are not representative of the philosophy of Satanism. Anton LaVey was undoubtedly an atheist who believed that the universe was indifferent to us.

And what about the Lavey Satanic rules of the earth acknowledge the power of magic or lose what you gained through it! if that is not occult and supernatural then what is?

Lesser Magic is simply the manipulation of other people. Greater Magic is the term used to refer to ritual. This is, once again, a bit tongue-in-cheek. Would you take the first part of the Satanic Bible literally? Where there is talk of splitting Jesus in the head with an axe? If you do, you're certainly missing the entire point.

Well, that may be, depending on how we define "codify a philosophy." I mean, French Satanists had a pretty thoroughly thought-out philosophy, with (arguably) far better informed roots than your average American. And most of them agreed on the essentials. 

No. There were no self-identified Satanists before LaVey. Satanism, as a philosophy, was not a thing before LaVey. Before the CoS, Satanist was used like an insult, comparable to "pagan" or "heathen." If you're so puzzled by all of this, visit the CoS website. Read The Satanic Bible and The Satanic Scriptures.
