Responsible gun owners who don't think they're John McLane or Harry Callahan are also not the issue. The issue is gun accessibility by people who shouldn't have access to guns.
I don't have a problem with gun ownership. I have a problem with some of the philosophies about gun ownership.

Made all the more apparent by the -rise- in gun crime, gun injury, and gun death in Stand Your Ground states. Nutball ideology would have us believe that this is a deterrant, and a needed deterrent. All evidence to the contrary.
If a person has legitimate reason to fear being shot (which, despite how our raw stats might look in a vacuum, we don't) then what they need are less guns and less people who want to use them and less laws that empower those nuts. Not more.
