Unfortunately, you don't just get to cry racism or Islamophobia any time someone criticizes your religion. That's an incredibly childish thing to do and is quite an insult to people who have actually experienced discrimination on the basis of being Middle Eastern, or whatever some racist moron deems what "Middle Eastern" looks like (racism doesn't require intelligence after all, collectivist ideology that it is), or on the basis of being a Muslim. I have nothing against Middle Eastern peoples or even Muslims. In fact, the vast majority of Muslims are moderate in their beliefs and don't follow their silly book any more literally than most moderate Christians do. Really, moderate Christians are alarmingly similar to moderate Muslims in a lot of ways... or at least it would probably be alarming to a lot of less moderate Christians. Irony can be funny!
Islam, I do have a problem with, mostly because one has to suspend their ability to think logically and critically in order to buy into such monumental bullshit, once again, just like Christianity.
So, no dude, calm your tits. It's not racist or "Islamophobic" to point out that there's a lot of fucked up shit done to women throughout the world that is directly linked to the hijab and the so-called "modesty" of women. Once again, are most Muslims bigoted pieces of shit who want to control what women do, wear and think? I'd say no, obviously they are not. I am like moderate Muslims in that way. I do not wish to control what a woman does, says or thinks. It's really that simple. But it's not "racist" or "Islamophobic" to point out that a lot of extremist Muslims want to do exactly that. Just like it's not racist to point out that a lot of extremist Christians want to do exactly that.
Suggesting that a woman needs to be modest by covering herself is so insanely disrespectful. Women don't need to do shit other than exactly what they want to do, within the confines of the law, of course, and some social pressures (though as we're discussing here, some social pressures can clearly be destructive rather than constructive). And if what they want to do is wear a hijab, I think that's unfortunate, but unlike some Muslims, I am not going to do anything to stop her from doing precisely what she wants to do, even if I think it's ignorant and willfully so towards the countless numbers of women who have been hurt physically or otherwise for not conforming to this tradition.
It's honestly bizarre to me how you can so easily deny such a clearly sexist and patriarchal concept, and that you can truly deny the plain and simple fact that women are brainwashed, from a young age, to believe that the hijab is good for them. Once again, it's much like the Mormon child who wears his silly longjohn underwear in fear of what will happen if he doesn't - an eternity of being burned and tortured and clawed away at in HELL! He's brainwashed into thinking that this is something that he must do, and furthermore, that it's his own choice to do it.
It's honestly bizarre that you think this way.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
