Not to mention, that the Constitution says that ONLY CONGRESS can authorize an act of war.
I don't know what planet anyone else lives on, but when you target a military official how can that not be seen as an act of war?
If conflict worked the way the POTUS and GOP wants to sell it, why not go after a North Korean General or Chinese General too?
My problem isn't that this Iranian General was a good guy, he was not. But this was not thought out, and there was no consultation by the POTUS with our congress.
We are in the age of nukes, and knowing that China and Russia have a protection pact with Iran, seems a huge risk to do this that could drag us into WW3.
Even Bush Jr got permission from Congress for Iraq before he acted. Arguing that it was based on a lie, still does not change he got congressional approval.
I am not buying the POTUS's "we didn't have time to wait". We also had a failed attempt going after an Iranian military operative in Yemen, but did not follow that up.
Trump pulled this bullshit because he wanted his own "Bin Laden" kill. Difference is that Bin Laden was not a head of state or military top official.
But nice dodge....
