It's only troubling in that/if/when a religion makes claim to ownership over whatever working x is being referred to in it's traditionalist bent. Two things become apparent at that point. The first being obvious - that a group is hinging it's claim to authority on appropriated conceptual goods. The second, and the proximate source of the violence reference above, is the inability of such an ideology to peacefully function with groups or societies or ideologies which demonstrate that this claim is false by their mere existence.
