Now some say that it would be a point of Honour and Politeness to call all countries be the names that they use themselves.

As an example:
May we say Hungary, or must we say Magyarország, the way the country calls itself?
Correct me if I am wrong, but the white west pronounces "Japan" "Japan" but isn't the native pronunciation "Nippon"?
You’re wrong. The Japanese pronunciation of ‘Japan’ is ‘Japan’. The Japanese name for Japan is ‘Nippon’ or ‘Nihon’
