Homosexuality was a crime in "Britain" and there was law banning it under ""gross indecency" under Section 11 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885".
He then took his own life with Cyanide:
Actually, Turing wasn’t sentenced to prison. He was given the choice between incarceration and chemical castration, choosing the later. Also, his death from cyanide poisoning was likely accidental.
