These 27 million cars consume 100 million liters of gasoline per day.
So 270,000 cars will consume 1 million liters per day.
So 30,000 American cars in Afghanistan will consume 100,000 liters a day.
But we raise our hands and say that they have consumed one million liters a day.
So the army consumed $ 1 million a day in fuel.
The planes did not fly much, but if we consider 3 million liters per day for them, the total cost of fuel was $ 4 million per day.
365*4,000,000*20=29,200,000,000$
I think USA only paid maximum 300,000,000,000$ for Afghanistan war since last 20 year.
How do you justify 3L/day? I only ask because 3 litres of petrol will move an M1 tank a little over a mile (fuel efficiency has never been a top concern where military vehicles are concerned).
