The offense is allowed to have multiple players in movement at the same time and they are allowed to run toward the LOS, get a "running start", if you will. 12 players on the field vs 11. Rugby and Australian Rules Football are confounding to me. I've watched a lot of games but never get a good sense of the flow. And how those guys survive a single game wearing nothing but shorts and a t-shirt is mind blowing.
But at least the name of the sport makes more sense because the foot touching the ball is actually a significant part of the game.
It evens out, I suppose - gridiron football will always remain a mystery to me.
