Absolutely not. No need for that kind of change. There are lots of rules that need fixing but the point system is fine. I did agree with moving the extra point back. That made a lot of sense and has resulted in a few misses here and there.
Ok, but if I am remembering correctly, basketball started out with only 2 points per bucket, but eventually changed for 3 point score. I think anything over 45 yards would be like a 3 (4 pointer for football) pointer. Like hitting the bullseye from the planet Pluto. I think if you can split the uprights from beyond 45 yards(add 10 yards for end zone) of the NBA's 2 points, the NFL should have a 4 point range like the NBA has a 3 point range.
