OMG - I loathe Jimmy Buffett.
I don't like him either, but his fans love him.
I cant dispute his talent and that is the point. Just like other things I don't like, like cooking, and food, and mushrooms which I hate, other people like it. So with all art, and even food, it ultimately does not matter if you don't like something. Others do. And the key to objectivity isn't saying "Since I don't like it, you cant like it either" is bullshit.

I really do get sick of people trashing pop music. Not just ABBA, but pop music in general. Talent is talent, not liking the genre is irrelevent to me.
Bob Dylan to me personaly, sounds like a cat being strangled when he sings. I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to his music on a constant basis. BUT, he has talent regardless. Just like I hate when soccer fans and NFL fans argue over what is a "real sport". I am so sick of that shit.
ABBA isn't inteneded to be deep. But they do have talent.
It would be good for your blood pressure and overall emotional well-being if you could come to understand that the phase 'ABBA sucks' is shorthand for 'While I can understand and appreciate that many, many people enjoy the music of ABBA, and while denying neither their success nor their talent, it is my personal and subjective opinion that this particular music is not for me. I don't think ABBA fans are bad people, nor have I ever suggested that these songs be banned or anything similar. My dislike of ABBA is purely personal, and I deal with it by simply not listening to their music. Thank you and have a nice day.'

Since when have you ever been worried about my bood pressure or my emotional well being?
You, "it is my personal AND subjective opinion that this particular music is not for me". (see above, your words)
That is where the argument of taste ends. Thank you for making my point.
