I can't say I blame him for not reading it because it really is total shit but then he shouldn't pretend that he knows what's in there.
I have explained this before, the word translated as evil should be translated calamity or disaster. This has been done in the NAS, giving the correct meaning of the verse. This is upheld in Is.31:2 and 47:11.

That is coming from someone who does not make a habit of reading the bible. Eat from the tree of knowledge or don't is about where it began. I really do not mean to be an instigator, but your faith is the creepiest and most out there that I have ever come across. You quite literally make shit up that you think sounds good to suit your outlandish beliefs.
God did not create that choice, satan tempted Eve and then Eve asked Adam to eat. Satan tempted Eve and then she made a choice to sin, then Eve tempted Adam and he made a choice to sin. God created all three beings, they by there own desires chose to disobey God. You believe that God set them up, He did not, He did however allow them a choice of right or wrong.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
