Thread: [split] 0.999... equals 1
Post: RE: [split] 0.999... equals 1
I discovered another proof.
1/9=0.1r
1/9+0.9r=1.1r bcause all the 1s added to the 9swill make the 1s go forward.
Hence 0.9r=1 |

I found a prove 0.999.... is not equal to 1!
0.9999.... squared =0.8...... Hence it cannot equal 1 since 1 squared is 1 !

Mine was saying EVF kept saying MERELY because there is no number between them,x=y. The logic is flawed if you do not specify other conditions.
BTW, ihave multiplied 0.9r with numbers 1-9 and it all... |

EVF, your logic is flawed.
In the discrete number system, there is no number btween 5 and 6, but are they equal?
But I believe 0.9r =1 |

perhaps I have misinterpreted. When I read your post I thought you still meant an infinite string cannot cancel out another infinite string, even though they are the same. |
