Fifteen years?  So Bush wouldn't let them in for 7 years.  Then Obama wouldn't let them in for 8 years.  Now that scum Trump won't let them in and he's been in office for 10.5 days.  That's outrageous!  It's all Trump's fault.

Their family members are already in the US. They had a house all bought and ready for them. They got turned away when they had already flown into the US.
Did you see this little gem in your link?

"They started the immigration process in 2003 and were approved in late 2015"
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4169296/Syrian-Christian-family-turned-away-airport.html#ixzz4XIzxAmE8

So they had been approved over 12 months ago.  Yet they didn't move an inch.  I'm sure that they had no idea that Trump would become President and bar them from entry but come on.  Why would anyone sit on his behind for that long when they could have left in 2015?  Were they waiting for Air Force 1 to come pick them up?

I'm calling BS on that story.  In the very slim chance that it's true then they are too stupid to be in America.

Also here is some more information: http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/28/us/syrian-...ravel-ban/

Quote:In late 2015 they were finally approved to enter the United States on an F-4 visa for brothers and sisters of US citizens.

The relatives finalized their paperwork, immigration interviews and medical examinations during a 10-day trip to Jordan in late December last year.

The Assalis have helped bring family members to the United States before. In 2013, they were able to bring in one relative, and last month they were able to bring the brothers' sister and her daughter.

Now I'm unfamiliar with the F-4 visa, but it looks like there are steps between "approved" and actually moving to the US. So...they didn't actually sit on their behinds at all, they followed the proper procedures in place for immigrants.

It's so heartbreaking for them. I can't even imagine what that must have been like to have to turn around and go back after being all ready and having made it all the way here. They are persecuted in their country. Hopefully they'll be able to make it back ok when the ban is lifted.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

You do realize that they were in direct communication with the US when they received their approval in late 2015?  So as soon as I got my grubby hands on it I'm moving on down the road.

I'm calling BS on the story because there's no collaborating evidence to support it.

Did you even read the CNN article I quoted?

I also looked up the process for their visa. Like mine it was two part. The first part is the petition, which has to be approved. It sounds like this is what got approved in 2015. An approved petition means you get to actually apply for a visa, which can take years, especially in complicated situations. In their case it probably involved getting their documents translated, and everything going through the embassy in Jordan.

With all due respect you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to visa applications; I have some experience in that field myself and one of my close friends recently went through a similar process.

The F4 visa process is complicated and it can take anywhere from 6 to 23 years to get one.  There's a limited number and they are processed on a first come first serve basis.  And if you don't use it before it expires you're out of luck.  So, since theirs' were approved in late 2015 why in the hell did they fart around for over a year before hitting the road?  Hell, people have walked all the way from Syria to France in less time than that.  There are tons of photos showing that.

I'm just saying that if the story is accurate instead of propaganda that they should have been more proactive in making a timely exit from wherever they were.  They were obviously in contact with their relatives in the US since they were at the airport to meet them.  Besides, every ambulance chasing lawyer in the country was at airports around the country to spring people from Trump's evil clutches.

There's story in the Philly paper about it and a picture of the Governor with the guy's brother and his wife.  The guy has been in the US since 1978.  The Governor was milking it for all that it was worth.  FDR would have thrown the whole bunch into a concentration camp.

If the people had supported the Syrian government they wouldn't have became refugees.

As an aside, there's a rumor that Assad might soon kick the bucket from a possible stroke or something.

You keep assuming the visa was approved in 2015. I'm telling you that it's more likely that their petition was approved then. Read the article, they went to Jordan for interviews and medical examinations in December 2016. I can tell you that the interviews / medical examination happens *before* the visa is approved.

The only propaganda here is the misinformation you are trying to pass off as fact.
