And if the senate doesn't stop it you know the WLB will gladly sign it.... and celebrate with a big piece of cake.

He can paraphrase Marie Antoinette:  "Let them starve while I eat cake."

[pointless history nerdery] The whole "let them eat cake" thing wasn't Marie Antoinette, it was Rousseau in his autobiography which he attributed to "a great princess" (he wrote the autobiography when Marie Antoinette was six, and still Maria). The most likely attribution of this quote is considered Louis XIV's wife Marie-Therese, but even more likely than that is Rousseau made it up.[/pointless history nerdery]

Legend or not, the meaning behind it holds true. Some assholes don't give a shit about those in need.

The thinking is that if those programs exist then black people could benefit from them so in order to prevent that from happening the powers that be are willing to eliminate the programs.  It's strictly a racist thing.

What's going to happen is that the economy will suffer, as grocers will be unable to cover their costs due to lessening demand.  Food-stamps are a huge subsidy.  We are already teetering on an economic recession.  Makes me wonder if the white trash voters will continue to support The Donald when the economy tanks??

Know what?

I get $196 a month in SNAP benefits to feed FIVE people. Yup. I have to try and make that stretch as far as I can and we still end up spending over $400 a month outside of that on food. What people don't understand is that SNAP benefits don't pay for cleaning supplies, toilet paper, kleenex, tampons, pads, razors, shaving cream or anything else that isn't edible but that homes need to be clean and all.

So when we have to use the money we reserve for the non-edible stuff, on the edible stuff, there's gonna be a problem. That isn't the only issue, but it's also going to take away from me being able to get my prescriptions every month.

I really hate this country.

I should correct myself and say that I really hate the current "leadership" of this country.

That's who I have a problem with. The land itself, didn't do a damn thing to me. Just the leaders.

We were on food stamps for years; 750/month for 7 people.  And, as I had to work while my wife cared for a disabled son, there was no time to go to a food bank, which were only opened during business hours!  And, my disabled son (who is going to turn 13) is not toilet-trained; at least $100/month of expenses just for that!

Trump will surely find a way to blame him!  His policies were the cause of the economic collapse; Trump is not to blame, ever!  If aliens invade and conquer the Earth, remember, it was Obama's fault!!
