Now here is what Islam needs to learn that most of Christianity has, you can find something offensive and speak out about it without going on killing sprees.
Christians got upset over the photo "piss Christ", missing the point of the artist who was not anti Christian, but pointing out the hypocrisy of many in Christianity. Even as offensive as they found it, most of Christianity in response to it protested in a civil manor.
Atheists when you blast us, cuss us out, or depict us in a bad light, the worst you get from us is a "fuck you".
Religion, all religions, need to grow up and learn that if the worst you get is picked on, you are doing good. There are minorities in the world of all labels that have to fear retribution and arrest and death. Being picked on or cussed out or blasphemed is nothing compared to living under fear of death.

Of course that's their ultimate goal. Has been since day one. Problem is, there are too few people out there having two braincells to rub together to see the larger picture.
I have already said on another thread (didn't know you were going to get poetry did you?) that I really don't think the timing of this this attack and the recent polling of Le Pen's Nationalists is a coincidence.
These are potentially very dangerous times we live in.

I can't think of anything more pathetic than killing someone because they made a cartoon about your imaginary friend. I'm so glad the cartoons are now being shown everywhere, fuck you if you're too pathetic to be able to take a joke. It's not our fault or our problem. We want a free, civilised society, not one that lives in fear every day of persecution or death.

I don't give any religion a pass, not even Buddhism. You can find pockets of violence and bigotry there too.
All religions in our species history to a greater or lesser degree set up in group vs out group. You won't get rid of them, but once you accept it as divisive you can manage them better.

I would think the most effective response is to increase the level of "insult" and disrespect to religions of all sorts.
More cartoons, more South Park parodies, more stand-up comedians saying naughty things about the pope. More, more, more.
They can't kill all of us. At least not without nukes. Gulp.
