So, basically after two weeks, choosing on incidentals like form, history, which players are better, which offences/defences work better gives spotty* results, whereas choosing based on important stuff, like which team looks the snazziest beats the average.

Thought so.

*Edit: I was going to say "prouchy" here, but that is dialect so localised that even Google doesn't recognise it.

AP's knee is a huge blow, but I'm trying to see the silver lining, here. With him out and with Bradford playing as well as he did, other teams aren't likely to stack the line to stuff the run virtually every play, so maybe the Vikings will be able to get some run production out of the backup RBs going forward. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

"Adrian Peterson has torn meniscus in right knee" It looks like Peterson's immediate future is uncertain. I'm kind of glad, like you, that his absence might lead to a restructuring of the way defenses approach the Vikings. However I've not been overly impressed with McKinnon. Apparently there's a broad range of timetables for return from a torn meniscus depending on how extensive the tear, and the approach to treatment, re: surgery, is adopted. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Regardless, Sam Bradford's passing attack looked impressive. He wasn't up to the level of Rodgers or Roethlisberger, but it gave life to the hope that he could be the star that we payed for with the trade with the Eagles. He seemed reasonably comfortable with the routes, and his 'touch' as a passer could hardly be faulted. I don't think there was one miscommunication between Bradford and receiver all night. I had initially thought that starting Bradford in the Green Bay game would be too soon, that we'd have to wait several weeks into the season to see him perform. If last night's game is any indication though, he seems ready to assume the role.

(I just need to keep calm and remind myself: weeks 11 - 13 are @ Seattle, vs Green Bay, @ Cincy. Can't get my hopes up: it is certainly within the realm of possibility for the Eagles to start 4-1, and even if they do so it's more likely they miss the playoffs than make them. Still, when watching Wentz and the new scheme and all, it appears as though, to quote my favorite band, "tomorrow comes today.")
