We actually had a minor freeze after the blooms started to appear as well.....but they're already back..hehehehehe.

We had nearly a month of nights below or at freezing (March) with many days in the 40's so...I guess that's what held everything back. I plan on hitting up UNC's rhod forest today on the way home to see if it's doing anything yet, being as we're obviously at a much lower elevation.

The cold air here tends to pass through on it's way to sinking towards the Ohio from the Appalachians. So we still get surprisingly late freezes (we'll have a few more (it's 45 today (37 low) but it'll be in the 70's (50 low) again this weekend) but they snap and pass - rarely killing everything. Couple weeks ago the temperature rose @ 40 degrees (from the 30's) in just a few hours. Huge electrical storm and downpours immediately followed..lol.

Yeah, we're having uncertain shower activity (clouds of dark nature + sun + skirt-pulling wind yesterday), but the nights are livable and the days are consistently 70 so I think we're past our danger zone. Otherwise I wouldn't have planted outside. Meanwhile, the last couple years I was putting stuff in the ground in March. Not tomatoes, of course, but just about anything else. It's just been weird.
