'God' and 'godlike' are two of those overused words that get up me hooter, like 'brilliant' or 'genius' or 'incredible'.
Wtf ever happened to phrases like, 'very good' or 'remarkable'? It seems that if human beings don't launch directly into superlatives, they can't express admiration, for...well...anything.
Give you an example: The last time we had a rugby party at our place, we're watching the game on telly when one of the players (not an All Black, more's the pity) broke a tackle and made his try from a run of about twenty yards. It was an exciting play by a very good player. One of my mates literally jumps out of his chair and shouts 'Genius!!' Why?
