I used to pray daily for someone - anyone - to come and take me away, save me from the physical and psychological torture meted out to me daily by my mother.
I'd fucking beg Jesus to help me, often on the verge of vomiting from the crying.

Only took 15 years for him to get round to it and let my older brother drag me out of that place. I'm sure that was alllll his doing...
