How do you live without hope?
Oh my, this turned out bad like right away. Why do you assume I live without hope? I have plenty of hope, because I have plenty to live for. I've got a lovely wife that I just married earlier this year, I've got a career in writing I'm getting off the ground, a great family and plenty of aspirations for the future too. That's perfectly hopeful to me; why would you make the leap from "atheist" to "no hope," anyway?

See, here we're running into some problems where you're making baseline assumptions about me based on misconceptions you have about atheists generally; you've already assumed I have no hope, and now you're assuming some kind of moral endorsement of homosexuality, which it isn't safe to do because you don't know me. Atheists are united on just one issue, that we don't believe in a god; every other position can vary between atheists, so when I say "I'm an atheist," you can't just assume a whole bunch of other positions about me, that's not a safe bet to take.
Regarding homosexuality, I do happen to endorse that, and your question is... weird. I don't think the moral status of a relationship has anything to do with its ability to produce a child, I think it has to do with love and the overall effect each partner has on the others. Moreover, I wouldn't make blanket statements like "homosexuality is right," either, I'd address the question on an individual basis, since homosexuality is just another form of sexual/romantic relationships.
It would also be apt to point out to you that not all straight couples can produce a child either; some are infertile, others don't want kids... are their unions morally wrong in your eyes, given that they share the same basis for moral wrongness that you've pointed to in gay couples? Or are straight, childless couples morally okay in your eyes? In that case, isn't your determination of right and wrong in relationships based on something other than child-bearing capabilities? Is adoption or artificial insemination okay in your book? If so, isn't it true that gay couples can produce a child after all?
