How can I consider you an atheist when you are using manmade religion as a means of explaining your position or refuting a theist’s position? Many atheists explain things by means of whatever religion they were brought up with; e.g. they invoke the bible, god, and ones religious history or background when justifying their point of view. If god is fake then all that is related to god is false.
I agree entirely! I wouldn't even bother to debate Christianity with a Christian. If they want to believe the nonsense then it's their choice. If they want nonsense to guide their life, this one and the next(lol!) then again that's their choice.
I take the natural stance that we are all born as atheists. I was born an atheist and I will die an atheist. If we become anything else after we are born then that is due to other human influence. There is no way that manmade gods can say to us "Here I am, I'm real!" and that's all they are, invented and designed by humans, all in the name of power, wealth and a way of softening life's natural reality for those who are unable to cope with the realities of life on planet earth.
There are many intelligent Christians, no doubt, but an "intellectual Christian", is surely an oxymoron.
