It is unrelated to their sexuality, or sexual attractions.
And your "schizophrenia" comment is WAY, WAY off the mark. When we say "detect differences", I refer to the fact that the ones claiming to identify as women show brain-characteristics indicative of a female brain-activity (on the aforementioned fMRI scans), rather than the male type. For your analogy to work, it would mean that schizophrenics were claiming to see things, we tell them they're not really, and then the fMRI scans show that their brains really are doing what they claim they're doing... but you tell them they're still full of shit.
Yes, it would be bigotry if you told me you were a Christian and I told you that you really weren't because reasons.
You failed to elaborate on Bruce Jenner.
Bold emphasis. I did not fail.

Quote:3. A person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking. When an otherwise healthy biological boy believes he is a girl, or an otherwise healthy biological girl believes she is a boy, an objective psychological problem exists that lies in the mind not the body, and it should be treated as such. These children suffer from gender dysphoria. Gender dysphoria (GD), formerly listed as Gender Identity Disorder (GID), is a recognized mental disorder in the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association (DSM-V). The psychodynamic and social learning theories of GD/GID have never been disproved.
