Trump's 2nd amendment call to arms not a criminal offense?

I believe he was joking about second amendment people shooting Hillary Clinton, that's what it sounded like to me. But if 'That's what it sounded like to me' becomes a reason to throw people in jail, I will do everything in my power to fight for freedom of speech.

I think he knew exactly what he said and how to word it to not be subject of prosecution. And I know that there is a sufficient amount of nutters being ready to act on it. Chances of success are rather slim, since, far as I know, presidential candidates are already protected by the Secret Service. But it ties in with so many other things Trump said within the last year. Riling up the crowd using every means at his disposal. His audience loved to hear that one, judging by all the smiling and laughing faces. It's none of his business if someone actually dies trying what he insinuated. It's also none of his business if someone gets hurt in the process. That's what's making him such a despicable person.
