Why don't you quote what I actually said? You keep trying to construct it in a way that makes it sound like I'm kind of okaish with it.
"I'm not saying it's not bad, but....."
I mean, really? Those weren't the words I used. Neither are they representative of my sentiments.
Quote:Standard argument.
As usual, you're not defending bigots. You're just making their often repeated case. Obviously without even noticing. That's a tease?
Again, it wasn't meant to be an argument. Yeah, it was supposed to be a bit of a tease. Hence the "you're killin me smalls."
Ironically enough, the reason why referring to Muslim discrimination as "racism" is a pet peeve of mine is precisely because it makes people on my side of the argument sound dumb. It gives the opposing side ammo and an excuse to call us ignorant and not take us seriously. I don't want that. And here I am being attacked for it by the very people who's side I'm on in the first place.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
