I'm old enough to remember Nancy Reagan and her court astrologer during Ronald's presidency.
It was written up in Don Regan's kiss and tell after Nancy had him fired from the White House west wing staff.
Didn't get much coverage, but my outrage was considerable that Nancy was relying on astrology to mitigate/control risk in regards to Ronald's presidency simultaneously while Ronald was pandering (go look up the definition of that if it's unfamiliar to you) to the religious right for political support.
CLEARLY, Nancy needed to be calling in various religious leaders like Jerry Falwell for PRAYER SESSIONS to mitigate/control risk associated with Ronald's presidency, not consorting with a woman with a 'familiar spirit' that contravenes the sincerely held values of those same Christians being pandered too.
IANMTU, on the few occasions when the astrologer would consent to Reagan leaving Washington on Air Force 1 to conduct the nation's business, the astrologer would dictate, TO THE MINUTE the precise take off time of the plane to maximize chances of success and to minimize risk. And note, Nancy was discussing and arranging the Presidents schedule over an unsecured phone line!
The 'big problem' was Ronald was pussy whipped by Nancy, it was extraordinarily rare for him to confront Nancy about anything, and without a sane hand guiding Nancy, she went off the deep end with the astrology crap.
