Acts chapter two and it says 3000 and many others were added to their group each day, not 5000. We should consider that women and children were not necessarily counted in those days. So the number could have easily been 5000.

There were twelve apostles and others disciples to baptize them. If only the twelve were baptizing and baptizing 20 every hour (which is reasonable, I've been to many baptisms) doing so for 8 hours a day, about 2 days. This is in reference to the 3000.
