I've never had trouble understanding racism, I grew up in the south and witnessed almost daily and found it an awful thing as a child and still do as an adult. 

You clearly do, judging by the examples you offered you don't even know what the word means..which is strange, coming from the south, as you say.

Which, again, isn't actually racism..so I'm not sure why that's relevant?

and one that was most likely no in slaved but the Israelites. The Israelites were in slavery 400 years in Egypt but no one here cares about that, now do they.

Issues of coherency aside...there is no evidence whatsoever that this ever occurred - but that hardly mattered....in response to this believed enslavement the "isrealites" imagined an establishment narrative in which they were the aggressors, the powerful people....none of that happened either..and again, it didn't matter.  If you want to talk about bigotry or racism..look no further than the assumption of a divinely chosen race.  

By the way being an ---hole can very often be seen in bigotry.

Well then maybe you can explain why the black people want to research their ancestral backgrounds. It was the Africans themselves who were enslaving their own long before white men began to buy them. It was the Africans who enslaved their own to sale to the white people. There's guilt enough to go around without people trying to make a continued controversy and/or argument. We should all be working for better relationships between all races.

The inevitable launch into a "totally not racist" bit of nonsense.  

Also think twice before you believe you can teach me about racism, bigotry or any other type of hate.
