What? Your solution is to just execute them? Do you have any idea how expensive it is? Do you know why the appeals process is so expensive? Ending a life, especially when there is a long history of flawed justice, forged evidence et al in America, is no 'easy' matter.

Ok, now I know you're delusional. I especially like the Just World hypothesis used here with the "truly innocent" person. What a fucking crock. As if it is any less unjust that a man gets sentenced to death for dubious reasons while still appearing 'guilty'...
A critical argument against the death penalty is that the wrong people get executed. I have yet to see any death penalty supporter offer any real solution other than aleialoura's innocent-people-magically-might-make-it solution, which is no different from prayer.
Proponents of the death penalty have about as much evidence of the effectiveness of aforementioned solution as Rick Perry asking God for rain. Color me surprised.
