The Death Penalty - are you for or against it and why?

I am in support of it. I think it's insane to spend money feeding and housing these lifers, who are going to die in jail. If the crime is bad enough to warrant life imprisonment w/o parole, just juice them, and be done. I do think they have the right to appeal, but once their appeals run out, and they're still looking at life, just end it.

It might sound a little harsh, but that's just how I feel.

I know innocent people are convicted sometimes, but the appeals can drag on for a long time, and often act in truly innocent people's favor. The west memphis three, for example.

1) death is the easy way out, constant prison is a horrendous thought. Imagine spending 40 years in a tiny cell 23hrs a day, what is the real punishment?

2) death row'ers spend years on the row, so I doubt there is any difference financially, the cost of bureaucracy for execution must be huge.

3) you live in a country that consistently makes poor decisions with regards to death penalty and prison terms, just look at the Georgia last month, or even Rick Perrys record as Texas Governor.

So I take it that you won't be appealing a death sentence if you should ever receive one, eh?
Since you think that death is a less of a punishment than life imprisonment.
The ultimate price you'll pay for anything in your life, is your death.
