Perception has a causal relationship with what is being observed: a receptor is stimulated, and a perception is formed. Do you agree? To call this interaction a correlation obfuscates the conversation.
You've already mashed up the scientific sense of observation, with the perceptual sense of observation. We observe through our senses. Science observes through its measurements.
