He may well have had a CCW piece on him - but may have decided a ultra compact .380 wasn' t ideal for a hostage situation.
I don't know if he had a gun - nor do you or anyone else here - but I would be surprised if he was unarmed.
I know I wouldn' t go into such a situation with any light CCW pistol.
If he had a gun with him, why would he borrow one?
I am over this shit. Something has to change. And if it means that fewer people get to have guns, so be it.
How many little kids have to worry about dying by getting shot at school do we really need? Like they aren't going to grow up fucked up after watching their friends and teacher killed while the police stand by waiting for a key?
I'm so done. For one of the few times I agree with 37 - you are a gun worshipper. Everyone else is collateral damage.
^^^^^^^ BINGO
And I still never get what a good stopping point as far as making firearms would be. America already has 400 million firearms. 1 billion, 10 billion 50 billion firearms? Firearms are not like perishable foods, they last a long time. But just like climate change, the firearm worshipers don't see the long term picture. Like people think one cold day, or one cold week, or one cold month means climate change isn't real.
And everyone SHOULD want firearms to be harder to get. Not as a punishment, but as an insurance to insure they are "kept out of the wrong hands", which the worshipers always claim they want to do, but run from that value when we agree with them.
One doesn't simply get to become a passenger jet pilot by simply saying "I want you to hire me". The airline craws up their ass if they are doing there job, make sure he is mentally fit, has the calm and endurance and training before they step out of the simulator into a real jet with real passengers.
OLB you should want this scrutiny too. You should want the firearm companies and shops and private sales to be held responsible so it doesn't make you look bad. Plus it makes society safer too, and I would hope everyone would ultimately want that. Otherwise if your attitude is "f you I got mine" "I am entitled" you are not out for the safety of the public, you are simply being insecure and selfish.
