Problems with the theory of evolution.

RE: Problems with the theory of evolution.
Welcome, let's get down to busisness.
(July 11, 2013 at 3:07 am)jamie_russels Wrote: Hi. I'm new here so this will be my first post. I'm Jamie from Alabama. I'm a proud Baptist and I'd like to point out a few inconsistencies I found in the theory of evolution.

The first point I'd like to make is in relation to the age of the earth and how it ties in with "evolution". I'm a young earth creationist. I believe that God created the earth approximately 5,000-6,000 years ago, and there is a good reason for this belief. Atheist scientists will tell us that the earth is approximately 4.6 billion years old, but this is impossible. Please hear me out and let me explain before you scoff and abandon this thread.
Ok, firstly - Baptists like all other protestants, are closet Anglicans, and secondly the very non-atheist astrophysicist at my church will tell you that the Earth is 4.6 Billion years old. FYI he's one of the world's leading authorities on dark matter.
Quote:So apparently we are living beings that evolved from lifeless materials.
All the building blocks of life are built using "lifeless materials". The basic building block of life, not that I expect you to understand this, is carbon. Without carbon life is almost undoubtedly not possible, with it, life can be built.
Quote:It doesn't make much sense to me because last weekend I was sitting by a lake pondering God's marvelous creation when I picked up a rock and stared at it. It suddenly dawned on me that if that very rock was 4.6 billion years old like athiest scientists say it is, then rocks would have evolved into intelligent creatures also. If evolution really was true and we all evolved from lifeless materials over 4.6 billion years, then that rock should also be a mammal or an insect or something by now. But there it was, still a useless rock, just sitting there. No brain, no self-awareness. Nothing.
Facepalm
Quote:Also, I did some research on something else. Apparently the total amount of water on earth is "1.386x10^21 liters", whatever that means. I don't know what the X and the ^ is for, but I'll continue anyways. There are almost 7 billion people on earth, so let's assume that human beings drink two liters of water a day, which could be true for some people. Some people drink a lot of water. That would mean that every human being on this planet collectively drinks 12x10^9 liters of water a day (I'm pretty sure that's right, I had to ask some Asian guy I know to do the math for me. I kinda suck at math)
Facepalm 7^9 x 365 x 2? 5.11^12/year. or 1.4x10^10/day. According to your theory anyway, I can tell you I drink way more than 2L net water per day.
Quote:Now here's what I'm getting at... atheist scientists say that life evolved around 3 billion years ago, so this would mean that human beings alone (excluding animals) would have consumed 9.5 times the amount of water on this planet. This is obviously impossible, because if this were true our oceans would be completely drained by now. So how do we still have large amounts of unused water?
We don't have any "unused" water - and we don't drink from the ocean... but anyway you maths is completely wrong. Let's imagine humans have been here 100,000 years - much longer than most people think. The population of the Earth at the time of Christ was (est) 230 million. Before civilization, the population would have been much less still. However, 2 x 230x10^6 x 10^5 = 4.6 x 10^13. Shall I now explain how much less than "1.386x10^21" that number is?
Quote:One more quick thing. If there is no oxygen in space, then how does the sun keep burning? We all know that fire needs oxygen to keep burning.
You have GOT to be kidding?

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
