What, being religious is like a job to you?

I'm saying that I spent many, many years trying to prove that something was true, and finally realized that my task seemed impossible. But there are others who claim that it's quite possible. I am interested in whether or not they can prove the claim. If their response is to try to brush me off with "I won't do the work for you" then I think it's fair to assume that they cannot do it either, since that's a strange attitude to take with questions of such grand importance.

It seems to me that you're only one step removed from where I am, GC.

Being religious should be like a job since IMO is what religion is about. Living in a relationship with Christ is having the greatest friend one could desire. Friendships do take work and since Christ is a perfect friend it is man who has to work at it, but like any good friend Christ offers His help.
I'm not sure one can prove that Christianity is true even to one's self, I think it's something one grows into over the years of study, prayer and working at the relationship and watching one's life change because of that relationship.
I wasn't trying to brush you off, I was trying to let you know that you are responsible for your belief, if someone is serious about finding the truth of God I'm always willing to help. But when one gets brushed off as much as the Christians do here, we can become less caring because of the experience. Sorry that I came off as brushing you off.

Smile GC
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
