Palestine was basically empty. The purpose of creating their own state is to give them a place to be safe from antisemitism.

Except it wasn't empty.
An the purpose wasn't to avoid anti-semitism, as the act of pushing people off their land and being general dicks was not a way to avoid social stigma.

Anti-semitism or more correctly anti-jewish, is a response to a religion, regardless of how that dislike plays out by other "christian" antagonists.
A jew without the "religion" is nondescript, and only by his further actions does he provoke reactions in other cultures. If you don't "act" jewish, no one discriminates against you at all.

With no god to deed your "club" land, the taking of other's land and excluding them from their basic rights is abhorrent, no matter how you try to dress it up.
