When I was little I used to read a comic strip named Moomin.
In one story, a group of understimulated housewives start a PETA-like organization. They start making everyone's lives miserable, meat is murder and all that.
In one strip the housewives all get ill. They get penicillin from a doctor. At this point, Moomin has had enough of them. He visits them and starts preaching bacteria rights.
'Those poor bacteria. Don't you think they have feelings? You MURDERERS!'
The housewives all force themselves to vomit up the penicillin.
