I'm not talking about the similarity of being in the primate family. Look at how the human race lives and behaves compared to that of Gorillas and chimps.
Yes, there is a behavioral gap, I agree. But biology isn't about behavior, you're thinking of psychology. Besides, there's often vast differences in intellect between members of the same family of species; consider the difference between a pigeon and a hawk, say. Just because humans have more advanced brains than gorillas doesn't mean we don't have much in common; crack the hood, look at the study of cladistics and how scientists actually make determinations of what goes in what species classification, and you'll see there's plenty of similarities.
My favorite example is the human spinal nerves; did you know they're more suited to quadrupedal motion than upright bipedal motion? Like, say, the way gorillas walk? It's true.
