Shall we see what the Bible says? It never prohibits abortion, nor calls it murder. It does talk about the penalty for hitting a woman hard enough to cause her to miscarry:
"If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise." Exodus 21:22-25
So making a woman give birth prematurely, but not causing her serious injury is a an offense for a fine, and injuring her is eye, for eye, tooth for tooth. That's suggestive about the difference between an woman and a fetus ain't it? Notice too that the fine is given to the husband, not the wife or the fetus should it survive.
And there's Numbers which says to me that if a woman is a accused of adultery she should be given a drink which will cause an abortion and subsequent bareness if she is unfaithful and cause her no harm otherwise.
"And when he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and has broken faith with her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her womb shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away, and the woman shall become a curse among her people. But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, then she shall be free and shall conceive children. " Numbers 5:27-28
Pretty clear the OT god doesn't consider fetuses persons, doesn't it?
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
