No, the fact that you consider Islamic extremism to be a threat to humanity, rather than threat to preferences of some parts of humanity, suggest you have not thought through what is a threat.

For me it has to be militant islam first, aggressive virus next, freak meteorite strike, self suffocation of the planet...
In no order.
1) Meteor/ asteroid
2) The sun dying in the future.
3) Climate change.
I don't see how militant Islam could threaten humanity, at worst it could result in a nuclear explosion and millions of deaths, but not a serious threat to the survival of all humanity.
I would rank very large VEI 8 volcanic eruption as a much more likely globally cataclysmic natural event than an asteriod impact. I think the frequency of globally significant asteriod pact occurs roughly once every few million years. Globally cataclysmic volcanic eruption happens 20 times more often.
