God "wants" to have a relationship with us, yet he hides away and makes us play stupid games to try and find him. Drive ourselves round the twist until we finally convince ourselves he's speaking to us. At that point, it makes no difference whether he exists or not.
If we're not in contact, who is more to blame? A stupid guy in his pyjamas with no powers, or an omnipotent omnipresent whatever type thing? Who could bridge the gap more easily? Blaming me, as usual, is the way of convincing yourself god exists whatever happens. There is no failure criteria again.
