Well, I did not have a need for a gun either. Though I'd like to have one. Not just for self-protection, I think its a good thing for every citizen of a nation to know how to operate a firearm.

Protip: If you use 'they' or 'them' instead of he/she him/her, even when talking about a single person, everyone will know what you're saying and it's gender neutral.
True, never came to my mind. Probably due to them usually referring to a multiple of people, and the "he/she/it" being a singular, gender neutral pronoun in Turkish. Thanks for pointing out.
