Can't say I've watched it since first run back in the 70s. I have it on the DVR, been watching it an hour or two at a time. Still impactful. Didn't remember how many familiar faces acted in it either.
As I recall, first run it was aired on consecutive nights. Looks like Sundance ran it all in one day. I'm up to end of installment 3, Sundance has them in 1 and 15 minute or 2 hours and 15 minute eps.
40 years is along time. Some scenes still vivid in my recollection, and I gotta say I didn't recall much of the ship board voyage. The original slave auction was intense.
Surprised there wasn't a bigger 40 year notice of this, it was quite a sensation in '77.
