So you gave an example, where the intruder found the gun in the house, and you asked me what I would do in a similar incident? So I pointed out that as I have no guns the incident would play out differently, how is that avoiding the question?
But since you seem incapable of forming a question that gets you the answer you want, I will help you.
If people entered my house armed with guns, crossbows, swords, or intercontinental ballistic missiles, while I was asleep and killed me and all my family, there would be very little I could do about it.
Now what are the chances of that happening? And how many deaths happen in homes where there is a gun? Who is safer?
Show me how a gun makes my children safer?
The paraplegic was certainly safer with a gun in his house...and having a gun made it safer for this mother to protect her children from a home intruder....

The incident happened at a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around 1 p.m. The woman was working in an upstairs office when she spotted a strange man outside a window, according to Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman. He said she took her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace before the man broke in using a crowbar.
