Actually, in 2010 there were 8,775 homicides and 19,300+ suicides using guns....which sort of puts to rest the myth that having a gun in your home makes you "safer."
And, no, it would take something more than the placebo of "training." It seems as if every week some cop shoots himself or someone else because he momentarily forgot his training.

Suicide isn't accidental, that gun did exactly what the owner wanted it to do in that case. Besides they should be able to kill themselves with a gun if they want to end their life, that's the way I'd do it. Quick and easy.
