Religion is the clear winner, beating even the other two combined. Seems quite odd to me.
If I was an atheist, religion would be the last thing I would talk about.
So why is religion so popular here? Is it because Atheism is fundamentally empty, and correspondingly has no topics to discuss within itself?
(I suppose I could understand it better, if the discussion about religion was at least accurate and informed, but in my experience thus far it is anything but accurate and informed)
Dont say - "oh its because religion has such power over my life", because unless you like in Saudi Arabia or Iran, thats an absurd thing to say.
Look forward to hearing your point of view.
I feel the need to point out that statistically you'r post is flawed. This is an atheist forum, therefor those that join it are more likely to take an intrest in theology and religions. It's like going to the christian creationist forum and conclude that all christians don't believe in evolution.
Also the fact you believe that religion is only a big thing in iran and saudi arabi is a sign of ignorance. In america religion is a massive thing. I'm from Britain and when i went over there religion was thrown in my face where ever i looked. Religion has a huge influence over people, it effects political beliefs, it can effect friendships etc etc.
I myself was raised as a catholic creationist. Religion was a huge part of my life. I have seen the way that religion can effect everything around you. It also doesn't change the fact that religious people have yet to provide any logical reason to believe in god.
