Oh nonholy atheismo yes.
I've always wanted to go hunting with a black-powder muzzle-loader rifle. The reason is pretty simple; it's a test of your accuracy. You nail that first shot, because if you don't, you aren't bagging anything for thirty minutes. The gunshot is loud, and reloading takes a while, so if you miss that first shot, you're scaring off the game you're aiming at and any game within hearing, too. No quickly cycling a bolt for another shot; one and done. It's what I've always loved about firearms is the test of accuracy, of trying to master precision, in the variable ways. I figure black-powder rifle hunting would be the ultimate test of accuracy with a firearm.
Given that I live in Wisconsin, which has tons of hunting [most of it actually pretty necessary; apparently last few years they suspended hunting in a bunch of areas, and a whole mess of deer populations basically starved to death from overpopulation, so they unsuspended it], the opportunity for this would be rather easy for me to indulge in.
Something tells me my first forays will be anything but successful. XD
