Presumably then you prefer the Epic of Gilgamesh's creation myth, as well as its version of the great flood from which the tale of Noah's ark borrowed heavily, as the former predates the Genesis account by a thousand years?

Except Genesis was written thousands of years earlier. I prefer to rely on the original text (and context) of the account and then later commented on in the first century in Hebrews.
