Belief in god is not the same as belief in intelligent design so stop claiming that NDT says that 15% of NAS scientists believe in ID. Also, you are taking the 15% figure from an older NDT presentation that did not accurately represent the NAS survey. NDT updated to the 7% figure from the actual study in later presentations.
You are quote mining NDT and drawing your own conclusion that contradicts what NDT's actual message is. NDT is making the claim that event brilliant scientists quit searching and succumb to a god of the gaps argument for ideas outside the boundaries of their scientific pursuit.

But look at the time delay. This was a hundred year time delay.
And the math that is in perturbation theory is like crumbs for Newton. He could have come up with that. The guy invented calculus just on a dare practically. When somebody asked him, ‘Ike, how come planets orbit in ellipses and not in some other shape?’ and he couldn’t answer that, he goes home for two months, comes back, out comes integral differential calculus because he needed that to answer that question. So, this is the kind of mind we are dealing with Newton. He could have gone there, but he didn’t.
He didn’t. His religiosity stopped him.
