About Cercie being a bitch, again I think the books do a good job of giving her a bit of a sympathetic feel as the stories go on. In book one I hate her, by book 5 I understand her better and feel sorry for her. She hates being seen as a week female, wishes she'd been born a man. She feels always passed over just for being a woman, hates that all woman are bought and sold and traded like cattle, married off with no say so in their own lives. The prophecy she received as a young woman would screw with anyone's head. She's walking around knowing someday she'll lose everything, so her actions are those of a woman desperate not to lose her remaining children.
She's still not a likable character or anything, but more understandable, I think.
