Meh, I don't get it. I certainly hope that we aren't electing people based on the notion that they somehow aren't...lol.
Interesting thing about that double standard, I've experienced it applied in the opposite direction. Man cheats, he's a dick, period. Woman cheats, she had reasons. If a guy sleeps around - very promiscuous-, females don't seem particularly inclined to accept that, at least no moreso than males...course, guys are always on the lookout for that easy girl..I wonder, having never been a woman, yall ever on the prowl for the easy guy? I assume you are, from time to time? Either way it's ridiculous. I think you see one side represented over the other in comments because the interwebs are filled with trolling tween and teenaged boys..lol.
People cheat, they do it for reasons, they do it because they're dicks, they do it just because.
Yes, thank you for regurgitating what half the internet says about being human and making mistakes. Which we are, and we do, but that was not my point at ALL.
I'm talking about the people who claim to have better morals than us regular mortals. Hamza is actually a perfect example. He put himself on a pedestal of moral superiority, claimed the high ground, and denounced THIS SPECIFIC BEHAVIOR (amongst many others). If these kind of people lose followers because their public no longer sees them as moral paragons, then that is a happy side effect of this unhappy situation, IMHO.
It's like when Ted Haggart went on and on about the immorality of homosexuality...then got caught with a male prostitute. It punctures that magical aura that their follower tend to ascribe them.
The Duggars had a HUGE following of people, thinking these people lived perfect happy lives. They perpetuated a myth that evangelical, quiverfull, Christian families are happier and more M and less prone to these sorts of human errors. They lived a lie, and I think we've only seen the tip of the iceberg with Josh. Again, if it plants doubt for some people that religion = better morals.....that's a GOOD thing!
For the average Joe Scmoe, no, I gain no joy in seeing their lives hurt or ruined by this.
